A journey through Japanese rituals at Le Bon Marché
The art of Japanese living according to Society Limonta
On the occasion of Paris Design Week, Society Limonta takes part in Super Japan, a project by Le Bon Marché dedicated to Japanese culture and creativity.
On 10 September, as part of the event, Society Limonta welcomed guests and visitors into its space at Le Bon Marché, presenting its own interpretation of Japanese living through the gestures of everyday life. In Japanese culture, the home is a place where every action acquires meaning through the care with which the space that welcomes it is prepared.
This sensibility naturally resonates with Society Limonta’s research, giving shape to a journey through four rituals: rest, conviviality, self-care and home comfort.
Rest is embodied by NIM, the cotton bed linen collection that brings the authentic character of denim into a surprisingly lightweight dimension. Its indigo-dyed warp yarn creates deep, irregular shades, recalling the Japanese culture of immersion.
Conviviality takes shape around the table, where printed abaca tablecloths meet BUTO and ONDA porcelain. Materials and transparencies accompany slow, measured gestures, evoking the ritual of tea preparation.
Self-care begins with the tactile experience of material. The honeycomb texture of LIPE combines lightness and absorbency with a delicate massaging effect on the skin, accompanied by home fragrances with notes of matcha tea.
Finally, Home Comfort captures the moment of returning home. The TONI loungewear collection, crafted in lightweight cotton percale, accompanies the transition from the rhythm of the day to a more intimate time devoted to oneself.
Four moments united by the same attention to material and to those everyday gestures that transform the home into a personal space.
